Curriculum Assistance        

Curriculum assistance is to help students achieve success in all content area classes by developing and reinforcing study and organizational skills, providing additional assistance with individual goals in reading, writing, and math while promoting student responsibility for reaching their goals through individual and/or group activities.

Hill Reading Groups

This reading instruction is research-based and designed to increase a student's overall reading ability. This is done by addressing each student's individual needs. We address, oral comprehension, phonological awareness, word attack, fluency, and comprehension.

Success 101

This course is new to Carteret County and is being taught in each of the 3 high schools. It is designed to facilitate student's success with establishing and consolidating their identity and deciding what they want to do with their lives. Through this process, students are also exposed to activities and information to encourage them to plan long term, and thereby encourage them to graduate from high school, make decisions about post-secondary education, training, or transitioning into the workforce.
